I’m not sure what I was expecting when I see a band name called Tapioca and the Flea, but it turns out they make extremely accessible and infectious electro-rock tunes, that have us salivating for more. Their first single “Mellotron’ is a spectacular dose of catchy, melodic fun, that must be played at very high volume. With largely discerning lyrics about being alright out there in the real world, this one is not just easy to party to, but also to sing-along at will. The sparking song really only deserves one listen for anyone to openly admit that this could be HUGE. Hopefully I’ll figure out what their name means before they get all big and everything. Also, please tell me Samuel Jacob-Lopez doesn’t sound a bit like Ben Gibbard.
